St. George School is becoming All Saints Academy of Stockton!
We make our debut in the 2021-2022 school year!
In a nutshell...we are changing who owns our school. Belonging to five parishes in South/East/Central Stockton gives us an opportunity to serve those parish communities.
Bishop Stephen E. Blaire - 1941-2019
In 2016, Bishop Blaire had a vision of creating a school that was owned by and served several parishes. St. George School was chosen as the desired site and Bishop Cotta is committed to realizing this vision for the Diocese of Stockton.
We pray that our regional school will honor Bishop Blaire's vision, Bishop Cotta's determination, and that we are a blessing to parish communities of St. Edward, St. Gertrude, St. Linus, St. Mary of the Assumption, and St. George.
Regional School Timeline
2016 - Bishop Blaire expressed his vision for the parish communities of St. Edward, St. Gertrude, St. George, St. Linus, and St. Mary of the Assumption. (All five parishes collectively known as Deanery 2.) 2018 - The Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Marian Graham, met with concerned parents and community members of the St. George church and school community. Their feedback was sought as we developed the mission and vision for the regional school. 2018-2019 - A regional school steering committee was developed by Laurie Cosenza and Marian Graham. The steering committee included School Advisory Board members, current parents, all five Deanery 2 pastors, current principal, the superintendent of schools for the Diocese of Sacramento, and experts from the UOP School of Education. This committee created the mission for our regional school. 2019 - Current parents were updated as to the status of the regional school and its impact on current staff, students, and families. Fall 2020 - All five pastors from Deanery 2 agreed to participate in the regional school project. Laurie Cosenza and Marian Graham secured funding for our school transition which includes establishing a new nonprofit corporation, new bank account, establish the governing board, and communicating with all five parishes, the current school staff, and the Diocese of Stockton. December 2020 - Our parish communities were surveyed to name the school. The most popular name was All Saints Academy and Bishop has approved the school name. December 2020 - Our current school students, staff, and families were surveyed about our new school colors. Maroon and Gold were the most popular. January 2021 - We established a school mascot. All Saints Academy has chosen the Knights as their mascot. Next, we create a logo. May 2021 - Our new Board of Directors meet for the first time and responsibilities are divided. We will seek out members for our School Advisory Board in the fall. May 2021 - Our new school logo is designed by Alfonso Aguilar. The logo was beautifully designed with a specific meaning for each aspect. Thank you Alfonso for donating your services to our new school!
