In partnership with the University of Notre Dame, All Saints Academy has been implementing a blended learning program since 2015. Blending learning is an educational program that combines online digital media with traditional classroom methods and breaks down the traditional walls of teaching to allow for personalized learning for each student. It offers a student the ability to learn at his/her own pace. There are several designs of blending learning. At All Saints Academy, the rotation model is used, by which students rotate between self-paced online learning and face-to-face instruction.
Advantages Of Blended Learning
Increases student interest and focus
Promotes student ownership
Supports face-to-face teaching approaches
Allows instant diagnostic information and student feedback
Enables students to learn at their own pace
Prepares students for the future
To maximize the benefits of the blended learning model, All Saints Academy adopted the iReadyprogram. It is an adaptive growth measure & diagnostic for reading and mathematics which pinpoints student needs and provides ongoing progress monitoring to show whether students are on track to achieve end-of-year targets.
All students participate in coding instruction through curriculum from Code.org. Coding is a fun and student-friendly introduction to computer science. Computer Science is a growing field and the need for specially trained individuals exceeds the availability. Learning to code will give your child confidence in technology, increased critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and an opportunity to explore the field of computer science which easily translates into internships and job opportunities in the future.
All Saints Academy provides students with access to a Chromebook during their school day. Students are encouraged to have a separate device for home use.
